Hi, I'm Meg. I'm 41 years old, blessed to be married for 21 years, and have 4 beautiful children.
I have always spoken about pushing the boundaries and now I am doing it in a way I have never done before. Yes, in February, I will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro on behalf of Shalva's children and families, and with the blessing of Rabbi Leo Dee, I will be climbing in the memory of Lucy, Rina and Maia Dee. These three beautiful souls were taken from this world in a terror attack this past April.
This mountain is the largest free-standing mountain in the world and one of the most challenging, so why on earth am I doing it?
The reason is Shalva.
Shalva provides transformative care to 2,000 individuals with disabilities and support to their family members, in the warmest and most loving environment. From infancy through adulthood, this incredible organization provides leading-edge therapies, inclusive educational frameworks, social and recreational activities, employment training, independent living, respite programs regardless of religion, ethnic background or financial capability!
Simply put, I am climbing the ultimate, once-in-a-lifetime mountain to benefit Shalva, so that their families are able to conquer their personal mountains on a daily basis.
I am doing my part to support this amazing organization with my climb, and I need your help.
I'll take care of the training, the achy feet, 8 days in a tent and the summit if you'll help me by donating to this worthy cause. All contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, and anything you can give would help me reach my goal.
Together we'll be supporting this truly special place and changing the lives of thousands of children.

תמיד האמנתי שעלינו למתוח את קצה גבול היכולת שלנו, וכעת אני מקווה לעשות זאת באופן שונה מאי פעם.
כן, בפברואר אטפס לראש הר הקילמנג'רו למען ילדי שלווה ומשפחותיהם.
ובברכתו של הרב ליאו די, אטפס גם לזכרן של לוסי, מאיה ורינה די הי"ד, אשר נשמותיהן הטהורות נלקחו מעמנו בפיגוע טרור לפני כמה חודשים.
הר הקילימנג'רו ('קילי'), הר געש רדום, אשר רוב שטחו שוכן בטנזניה, הינו ההר הגבוהה ביותר באפריקה, ואחד מההרים המאתגרים לטיפוס בעולם כולו.
טיפוס 'קילי' היה תמיד רק בגדר חלום עבורי,
עוד מאז ימי נעורי..
אז למה לכל הרוחות החלטתי לעשות זאת עכשיו?!
הסיבה היא שלווה.
ואני כל כך נרגשת להגשים את החלום הזה ובמקביל לעזור לארגון שלווה המדהים.
שלווה מעניקה טיפול וליווי לכ2000 מטופלים בעלי מוגבלויות ובני משפחותיהם מגיל ינקות ועד בגרות, באווירה חמה, אוהבת ותומכת. הארגון המיוחד הזה מעניק טיפולים חדשנים, מסגרות חינוך ייחודיות, פעילויות חברתיות ותרבותיות, הכוונה תעסוקתית, מקומות מחיה עצמאיים ומוגנים, מקור מפלט ורגיעה לכלל האוכלוסיה הנזקקת, ללא הבדלי דת, גזע ורמה סיציואקונומית.
בקיצור, אני אטפס את ההר הזה כחוויה של פעם בחיים בכדי לאפשר למשפחות שלווה לכבוש את הפסגה בטיפוס המפרך והיומיומי שלהם.
אני לקחתי על עצמי לעזור לארגון הנפלא הזה, אך אני זקוקה לעזרתכם.
אני אעשה את חלקי באימונים הקשים, בלינת שטח בתנאים מאתגרים, בטיפול ברגליי הכואבות, ובטיפוס הארוך והמפרך, ואני מבקשת מכם לתמוך בי ע"י תרומה למטרה נעלה זו.
